I have two new favorite things – ciprofloxacin and vape mat ultra. Ciprofloxacin is a miracle drug that cured my traveler’s diarrhea instantly. After a day and a half of battling the runs, I gave up on Pepto Bismol and delved into the holy stash of cipro that I brought with me from the States. My supply is limited; I’m down to five pills now and I want to use them sparingly. I hope this is one of the many drugs that you can get over the counter here. Vape mat ultra is, according to its box, an “electric mosquito destroyer”. You plug it into the wall, lay a scented card on its hot plate and voila, your room is suddenly lavender scented and free of mosquitoes for up to 8 hours. This is fantastic. Speaking of mosquitoes, I realized with alarm once I got here that I had forgotten to start taking my malaria pills. I’ve now been here for an entire day and a half and I still haven’t taken one. Will vape mat ultra be enough to keep me malaria free?
